He also works as a consultant for major international manufacturers. His designs span a wide variety of fields, from precision electronic equipment to furniture and interior spaces.
He has garnered international recognition, not only for his designs but also for the essence, thought and expression at the heart of things through design.
Winner of numerous awards, including the 2018 Isamu Noguchi Award.
He was accorded the title of Honorary Royal Designer for Industry (Royal Society of Arts, UK).
Fukasawa is one of the directors of 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT.
He is a professor in the Integrated Design Department at Tama Art University.
Since 2012, he is the Director of Nihon Mingei-kan (The Japan Folk Crafts Museum).
He is a member of the judging committee for the LOEWE Craft Prize.
